The Czech deputies postponed for the second time the date of examination of a bill concerning the fight against discriminations related to the sexual orientation. The Czech Republic has the obligation to adapt its legislation to the requirements of the European Union which it entered in 2004. The country was however the first in Eastern Europe to recognize gay couples through a civil partnership. But fearing they would not obtain a majority, the deputies postponed to examination until after the senatorial elections next October. |
