Very tensed situation as Sarajevo Gay Pride is approaching

More and more tensions surround the organization of the first gay and lesbian festival in Bosnia. The festival is to take place on September 24 in Sarajevo under close scrutiny. «Death to gays» tags have been found on the city walls and a large part of the population expresses hostility. Religious authorities even consider the festival an offense to Islam in this period of Ramadan. The local gay community is keeping pace even though violences are feared.
