The situation of the LGBT community is not improving

A report of the European Union deplores the lack of freedom of gay associations like Lambda which was shut down last May and the absence of laws protecting the freedom of sexual orientation. Violent acts against the LGBT community are still numerous and the Police are sometimes involved. On the other hand the State continues a discriminatory policy by exempting gays of military service and its courts abuse on the notion of trouble to law and order to condemn gays.
The admission of Turkey is subject to the respect of a number of common rules among which gay rights.
