The newspaper Al Massae which published an article on the assumed homosexuality of a public figure and qualified a private party in Ksar El Kébir as “gay marriage” has been charged of slander with a fine of more than 6 million dirhams.
Rachid Ninni the director of the newspaper and of the Moroccan Federation of Newspapers Editors deplores the severity of the sentence appealed in court which will lead to the bankruptcy of the newspaper. Homosexuality is a serious matter in Morocco indeed.
