10 years ago, Matthew Shepard was killed in Wyoming at the age of 21 because og his homosexuality. His memory is still very intense in the US and a public remembrance was organized in Minneapolis. This anti-gay hate crime had launched a movement for the passing of a law pointing homophobia as an aggravating circumstance. It was however defeated due to Congress’ and George Bush’s opposition. Barack Obama has committed to pass the law if elected President. |
