President Lula in favour of same-sex unions

During a television, the Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva declared he supports gays and lesbians unions. «We must stop this hypocrisy. Everyone know there are mem living with men and women living with women. Very often they build extraordinary things together », he declared.
«I think that what’s important is that gays and lesbians feel they are Brazilian citizens and that they support the nation On one side some politicians accept their votes and taxes while opposing gay rights. I do support civil unions between same-sex partners», he concluded.
The Brazilian Congres sis working at legalizing civil unions, which are permitted in some States only.
