Island House was purchased in 1999 by Jon Allen and Martin Kay, a gay couple from Key West. Since purchasing the property they have worked with prominent local architects, designers, and contractors on an award-winning renovation of the property including the guest rooms, the common areas and the gardens together with new Cafe and Bar and a Health Club.
