Tipees are fully carpeted with double sofa bed, solar electric lights and music. The wood fired heater keeps them cozy year round.
Each cabin has a composting toilet an indoor shower and also features an outdoor bath. Kitchens are well equipped with gas range, utensils and crockery etc. Furnishings are modern and very comfortable: A queen sized bed, a double sofa bed plus a single trundle bed. Also a kitchen table, second sofa plus an outdoor setting.
A 1/2 hour stroll through the oldgrowth forest to marvel at the lush tree ferns, 60m high eucalypts, fragrant rainforest trees and the tiny creatures scurrying on the moss covered forest floor. By day, abundant birds and small creatures inhabit the forest and open areas. Possums, wallabies, bats and owls can be found most evenings.
Self cater or enjoy a gourmet dinner served direct to your cabin or the outdoor entertainment area. A glass of fine local wine enjoyed under the stars soaking in the outdoor bath to end the perfect day at Huon Bush Retreats.

Michael is the chef and provides most of the guest services and day to day management.
Paul Dimmick manages the infrastructure and promotional activities. He was a full time activist in the sucesful campaign to save the Franklin River and various other environmental and community campaigns.
River is our orphaned wallaby, who is very friendly and may greet you at reception.
