Rainer et Jürgen ont quitté Cologne en Allemagne pour venir s’installer à Provincetown en novembre 1997 et ouvrir le Carpe Diem. Rainer a laissé derrière lui sa carrière dans la mode, tandis que Jürgen exerce toujours son métier de journaliste en free-lance pour un important magazine allemand. Hans est arrivé en mai 2002. Diplômé en gestion et mercatique hôtelière en France, son pays natal, il a travaillé auparavant dans des hôtels 5* en Angleterre, à Chypre et au Luxembourg. Il est heureux d'avoir trouvé sa nouvelle maison à Cape Cod.

There are many signature items that the Carpe Diem is known for but their breakfast is the "talk of the town" thanks Jurgen's culinary talent and perfection. My partner and I stayed at the Carpe Diem for the second time this year. Our wonderful experience last year was no fluke! We again had a great time! The best of Provincetown!
I have stayed at the Carpe Diem several times over the last three years. I am never disappointed. The accomodations are comfortable, well decorated, and well maintained. The service provided by the owners & staff is first rate. The marvelous breakfast served each morning and wine & cheese in the afternoon are chances to meet and socalize with fellow guests. Our stay at Carpe Diem was wonderful and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
We received a warm welcome from all of the team. As other reviews have mention, Jurgen’s breakfasts are fantastic, shared with other guests around a large table. Herbie’s restaurant advice and ability to secure tables at short notice was also invaluable.
The late afternoon wine and cheese gatherings gave us an opportunity to meet the other guests and discuss what everyone had been up to during the day. It almost felt like being part of an extended family, which made our stay very special.
The location could not be better – just off the main street and within a couple of minutes walk of the shops, restaurants and the wharf where the excellent whale whatching trips depart.
Construction work on a second building to extend the guesthouse was almost complete during our stay. This will give an extra 4 guest rooms which should keep it small enough to retain the friendly atmosphere and make breakfast and the wine & cheese afternoons even more interesting. Fantastic guesthouse, mostly because of the "little touches." The breakfast was outstanding, with the usual fixings, plus eggs to order and pancakes one morning. They had 24 hour coffee available, as well as a cake/tart under a cake dish in case you get hungry. Wine and cheese hour at 5 every evening was well attended. My partner and I have been guests more than once a year since the owners took over several years ago. We have come to view the guesthouse as our second home. From start to finish our trip was a wonderful experience. We stayed in a beautifully decorated room with wonderful accommodations. The guesthouse is located in the perfect spot in P-town. Close to everything downtown, but far enough away to easily access a romantic spot or two. Despite the poor weather, the staffs' sunny dispositions more than made for a charming experience. Dinner reservations were made with the help of the staff and the breakfast was truly marvelous. I'm glad we stayed here; I wouldn't recommend anything less!

Nous avons séjourné, avec mon amie, dans la chambre Robert FROST de la guesthouse. Il s'agit d'une magnifique chambre au lit spacieux, aux teintes douces et au foyer chaleureux et apprécié : le climat du mois d'avril est vif (surtout à la tombé de la nuit) ...
La salle du petit déjeuner est agréable et calme. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux, le café bien chaud et les petites douceurs plaisantes.
Enfin, les hôtes (Rainer, Jurgen, Hans et Herbie) sont chaleureux, souriants, toujours disponibles : en un mot, aux petits soins.
Pour conclure, Provincetown est une ville calme et reposante qui propose de sympathiques balades (à pieds, à vélo, en mer), et une adresse définitivement incontournable : Carpe Diem !
>Suggestion de balade inoubliable : sortie en mer pour observer les baleines franches.
