The concept for the property goes far beyond traditional hotels. It provides a true sense of place. The rice fields surrounding it are currently being farmed. And the entire property is surrounded by water – rice irrigation streams, natural spring-fed streams, and the Petanu River, one of the largest in Bali and great for fishing.
Furnishings in the rooms are produced locally from coconut trees, a sustainable resource.

Local artists and craftspeople specialize in Balinese arts (wood carving, batik, egg-painting, gamelan music, etc.) All of the artwork is available for purchase. The staff will be happy to arrange crating, shipping, and handling if purchases do not fit into luggage. Balinese massage therapy also available.

Bhanuswari Resort & Spa is located ten minutes outside of Ubud, in the central foothills of Bali, where the artists live and work. The property has terraced rice fields gently sloping down to the Petanu River.
